Blackheads form when excess oil and dead skin cells clog the pores. The oil, known as sebum, combines with dead skin cells and bacteria to create a plug that blocks the pore. When this plug is exposed to air, it oxidizes and turns black, resulting in the characteristic appearance of a blackhead.

Giant blackheads are more difficult to remove compared to regular blackheads due to their size and depth. Regular blackheads are typically small and shallow, making them easier to extract. However, giant blackheads are larger and often deeply embedded in the skin, making them more stubborn and resistant to removal.

Genetics and hormonal changes also play a role in the formation of giant blackheads. Some individuals may be genetically predisposed to producing more sebum, which increases the likelihood of developing blackheads. Hormonal changes, such as those that occur during puberty or menstruation, can also trigger an increase in sebum production, leading to the formation of blackheads.
